Is a recurring cleaning plan worth it? An honest cost breakdown

6 min read · September 24, 2025

We ran the numbers on one-time cleans versus bi-weekly plans over a year. The result surprised some of our clients.

People assume a recurring plan costs more because it happens more often. Over a full year, the maths usually goes the other way — because a maintained home takes far less time to clean.

The build-up cost

A home cleaned every two weeks needs roughly the same amount of labour every visit. A home cleaned twice a year needs a deep clean each time, at roughly double the hourly requirement plus specialised work on grout, appliances and baseboards.

Where the plan discount comes from

Recurring plans are cheaper per visit because they are predictable. We can route helpers efficiently, we are not re-learning your home each time, and we are not paying for the sales and scheduling overhead of a one-off booking. Weekly plans save up to 20%, bi-weekly up to 15%.

The non-financial return

Clients on plans report the biggest benefit is not the cleaning at all — it is never having to decide, negotiate or remember. The visit is on the calendar and the house is simply always in reasonable shape.

  • Same helper who knows your home
  • Priority scheduling around holidays
  • Rotating focus areas so nothing drifts
  • Locked-in pricing for the plan term

When a one-time clean is genuinely the right call

Before hosting, after a renovation, at a move-out, or as a first reset before starting a plan. Those are real needs and we are happy to quote them.

The takeaway

Recurring plans usually cost less per year than sporadic deep cleans, and they remove the decision entirely.
