About us

A Filipino-Canadian family business, built one home at a time

The-Helper Cleaning is a Prince George family company. We are neighbours first and cleaners second — and that is exactly why our clients stay with us for years.

The Filipino-Canadian family behind The-Helper Cleaning

"We don't chase volume. We chase the kind of relationship where a client leaves the door unlocked for us."

Our story

The people behind The-Helper

  1. Ron — Founder at The-Helper Cleaning
    The beginning · Founder

    Ron

Ron started The-Helper with one vacuum, a second-hand caddy and a list of five neighbours who trusted her. She had come to Prince George from the Philippines determined to build something her family could be proud of. What began as evenings and weekends between shifts became a company known across the city for showing up on time and treating every home like her own.

If I wouldn't accept it in my own home, it doesn't leave this company.

  2. Bernadette — Co-Founder at The-Helper Cleaning
    The standard · Co-Founder

    Bernadette

Bernadette joined Ron early, bringing the structure that turned a hustle into a business — the checklists, the training, the standard that every helper is measured against. She is the reason a Helper clean feels the same whether it is your first visit or your hundredth.

A checklist is how you keep a promise when you're not in the room.

  3. Eneda — The Legacy at The-Helper Cleaning
The next chapter · The Legacy

    Eneda

Eneda carries the systems, the training program, and the promise that the care Ron started with is passed on to every new helper who wears the uniform.

What we teach the newest helper is what the company will be in five years.

  4. Jay — The Support at The-Helper Cleaning
Behind the scenes · The Support

    Jay

Jay is the quiet engine: the late-night supply runs, the vehicle maintenance, the encouragement on the hard days. Every family business has someone who makes the impossible days possible. That's Jay.

Somebody has to warm up the van at 5 a.m. Might as well be me.

  5. Our number one supporters — The family at The-Helper Cleaning
    Always · The family

    Our number one supporters

Behind every early morning and every late invoice is a family that believed in this before anyone else did. They are the reason this business exists in the first place, and the reason it is still run like a family.

They believed in it before there was anything to believe in.

Milestones

How we got here

Year one

Five neighbours, one caddy

Ron cleaned evenings and weekends around another job, with a hand-written schedule taped inside the van door.

Year three

The checklist era

Bernadette wrote the room-by-room checklists still used on every visit today, so a clean is the same on any day, with any helper.

Year five

A real team

Our first full-time helpers joined — bonded, insured, background-checked, and paid a wage that keeps them here.

Year eight

Booked out, referral-led

More than half of new clients arrived from someone who already trusted us. Nothing has made us prouder.

Today

Opening the door for others

We are now setting up partners across BC and Canada with the same systems, so other families can build what we built.

What we stand for

A cleaning company is really a trust company

You are handing someone a key to the place where your family sleeps. That is not a small thing, and we have never treated it like one. Everything below is how we earn it again on every visit.

We hire our neighbours

Every helper lives in the region they clean. No contractors shipped in, no rotating strangers at your door.

Kinder products by default

Low-fragrance, pet-safe supplies come standard, and we will happily use yours if you prefer them.

Proudly Prince George

From the Hart to College Heights, we know the winters, the driveways and the boot rooms they create.

Newcomer-friendly work

Training, equipment and English-language support are provided, because that is the help our family once needed.

What you can expect from us

  • A reviewed, written price before you ever commit to a booking.
  • The same helper wherever scheduling allows, so nothing needs re-explaining.
  • A text when we are on the way, and a note of anything we noticed in your home.
  • A 48-hour happiness guarantee answered by our family, not a call centre.

What we ask from you

  • Tell us the truth about pets, allergies and the rooms that matter most.
  • Keep access simple — a lockbox or code beats waiting on the driveway.
  • Cash only in a sealed, labelled envelope, so nothing goes missing.
  • Give us the chance to fix something before you tell the internet about it.

A special thank you to the Novak Family

Some clients become family. The Novaks booked Ron in her very first month, referred half a neighbourhood, and stood by The-Helper through every season since. Their loyalty turned a one-person job into a company that now employs and supports several families in Prince George. Thank you — truly.

Loyal since day one.
