Privacy Policy
How we collect, use and protect your information — last updated February 2026.
1. Who we are
The-Helper Cleaning is a family-run residential and commercial cleaning company serving Prince George, BC. This policy covers our website, quote calculator, booking system, client, helper and partner accounts, and every email we send you.
You can reach our privacy contact any time at youare@the-helper.ca. Email support 24/7.
2. Information we collect
We only collect what we need to quote, clean, bill and support you.
- Contact details — name, email, phone and service address.
- Quote details — home size, service type, frequency, add-ons and any notes you write.
- Booking and access details — service dates, arrival windows, access method and access notes (lockbox codes, key handling instructions).
- Account details — your login email, profile information and the role attached to your account (client, helper, admin or partner).
- Payment records — the amount, status and receipt link for each job. Card numbers are never stored on our systems; they are held by our PCI-compliant payment processor.
- Partner records — application details, territory, tier, submitted KPI figures, resource downloads and manual acknowledgements.
- Waiting list entries — the details you submit when service in your area is full.
- Basic technical data — the errors and performance information a website needs to stay online. We do not run advertising trackers.
2b. Home care information
When you request non-medical home care we collect details about the person receiving care — routines, mobility, language preference, support needed and anything you choose to tell us about their wellbeing. We ask only for what is needed to build a safe care plan and match a caregiver.
These details are treated as sensitive personal information. They are visible only to the staff arranging or delivering that care, are never used for advertising, and are never sold or shared with third parties except where the law requires it or in a medical emergency.
3. Why we use it
Your information is used to prepare and review your quote, email your final price with the rules and policies for review, schedule your clean, dispatch a helper, take payment and issue receipts, and answer your questions.
Access notes are used strictly to enter and secure your home on your service date. They are visible only to the assigned helper and administrators.
Partner information is used to operate the franchise programme — onboarding, training, KPI reporting, performance reviews and compliance.
4. Emails you receive
We send app emails tied to something you did: quote release and review, booking confirmations, receipts, account and password notices, KPI reminders and partner onboarding messages.
We do not sell your address and we do not send bulk marketing campaigns. Every email includes an unsubscribe link handled automatically by our email platform; account-critical notices such as receipts and security messages will still be delivered.
5. Who can see your information
Access is role-based and enforced in the database itself, not just in the interface.
- You can see your own profile, quotes, bookings and receipts.
- Assigned helpers see the job details they need — address, access instructions, checklist and whether the job is paid, unpaid or overdue. Helpers never see the amounts clients pay.
- Administrators can see operational records to run the business and support you.
- Partners see only their own territory records and the resources released to their tier.
- Service providers — payment processing, email delivery and cloud hosting — process data on our behalf under contract. We never sell your personal information.
6. How long we keep it
Quotes and waiting list entries are kept for two years so we can honour prior pricing. Booking, payment and tax records are kept for seven years as required by Canadian tax law. Account profiles are kept while your account is open, and access notes such as lockbox codes are cleared when you remove them or close your account.
7. Security
Data is encrypted in transit, stored with a managed cloud provider in Canada or the United States, and protected by row-level access rules so one account cannot read another's records. Payment card data is handled entirely by our payment processor. Helpers only see access notes are only visible for jobs assigned to them.
8. Your choices and rights
Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA) you may ask to see the information we hold about you, correct anything inaccurate, withdraw consent for non-essential communications, or request deletion where we are not legally required to keep a record.
Email youare@the-helper.ca and we will respond within 30 days. You can edit most of your details yourself in your account at any time.
9. Cookies and local storage
Essential cookies and local storage keep you signed in, remember your booking progress, hold your cookie choice and protect our forms from abuse. These are always on because the site cannot work without them.
Everything else — measurement and advertising — stays switched off until you accept in the cookie banner.
- Essential: sign-in session, booking and quote progress, cookie choice, spam protection.
- Analytics: anonymous page and funnel counts so we can see which pages help people book.
- Advertising: none. We do not currently display advertising on this site.
10. Analytics
We keep our own first-party measurement: which pages were viewed, which step of the quote calculator people reached, and whether a quote was submitted. It is stored in our own database, is not sold or shared, and does not require cookies or personal identifiers.
When you accept cookies we also send the same conversion signals (quote submitted, booking button clicked) to Google so we can measure whether our search and ad spending is working. Decline and none of that is sent — the first-party counts still work.
11. Google Ads and AdSense
We do not currently display advertising on this site. If advertising returns, Google may use cookies and similar technologies to select ads, limit how often you see the same ad and measure performance, and Google would be an independent controller of the data collected through those cookies.
We use Google Consent Mode v2: advertising storage, ad personalization, ad user data and analytics storage all default to denied, and only change if you accept in the banner.
You can review Google's own controls at adssettings.google.com and read how Google uses data from partner sites at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
12. Managing your consent and your data
Change your cookie choice any time using the panel on this page — the change takes effect immediately and is remembered on this device. Clearing your browser data resets the choice and the banner will ask again.
To see, correct, export or delete the personal information we hold, email youare@the-helper.ca from the address on your account. We confirm your identity, then respond within 30 days. Most account details can also be edited yourself in your account at any time.
Browser-level controls — blocking third-party cookies, Do Not Track, or an ad blocker — also work here and we do not attempt to work around them.
Your cookie choice
No choice saved yet — analytics and advertising cookies stay off by default.
Your choice is stored on this device only. Clearing your browser data resets it, and the banner will ask again.
13. Children
Our services are for adults arranging cleaning for their home or business; we do not knowingly collect information from children, and we do not show personalized advertising to anyone we believe to be a child.
14. Changes to this policy
We will post any change on this page and update the date above. Material changes affecting how we use your information will also be emailed to account holders. This policy was last updated in February 2026.
